This Privacy Policy describes how Grid Travel LLC (“Grid Travel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use GridTravel: Local Routes(the “App”) and any related websites, features, or services operated by us (collectively, the “Service”).
The Service is offered only to users located in the United States. We do not target or knowingly offer the Service to users outside the United States.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
- Account Data. When you create an account, we collect your first and last name, email address, and a username. If you sign in with Apple, we receive basic account information from Apple (such as your name and email, or an Apple-provided private relay email) as permitted by your Apple ID settings.
- Profile Data. You may choose to add a profile picture (avatar), bio, and location to your profile. If you choose a photo for your avatar or a route cover image, you grant the App access to the photos you select through the iOS photo picker.
- User-Generated Content. Content you create, upload, or submit through the Service, including routes you create (title, description, city, state, cover image, waypoints, tips), ratings, comments, comment likes, saved routes, and completed route records.
- Preferences. Your in-app preferences, such as unit system (imperial or metric), email and push notification settings, and security settings (such as 2FA status).
- Push Notification Tokens. If you grant permission, we collect device push notification tokens (via Apple Push Notification service) to deliver in-app notifications you have opted into. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device’s Settings or in your in-app preferences.
- Communications. If you contact us at support@gridtravel.app or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the content of those communications.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data. Information about how you use the Service, including features you interact with, routes you view, save, or complete, and actions you take.
- Device Data. Device type, operating system and version, app version, language settings, and similar technical information.
- Log Data. IP address, access times, and diagnostic or crash information.
Location Information
The Service uses your device’s location to help you navigate routes, record completed routes (including distance traveled and stops visited), surface nearby routes, and display map tiles and turn-by-turn directions.
The App may collect your location while it is in the background (for example, while actively navigating a route) so that we can continue to provide navigation, record your progress, and play audio guidance. You can enable or disable location access, and change it between “While Using” and “Always,” at any time through your device’s Settings. Some features will not work without location access.
Map regions you download for offline use are stored locally on your device. Our maps and navigation provider (Mapbox) collects telemetry data, including anonymized location, movement, and device information, to operate and improve their mapping services. For details, please review the Mapbox Privacy Policy.
